Wellies at the ready...

Year 5 have been out to the Hirsel Estate as part of the 'From Farm to Fork' project, learning about where their food comes from; taking part in a nature trail and making their own delicious bread.  Fortunately the weather stayed mainly dry but the wellies were still needed for squelching in the mud, whilst looking for, well I can't quite'll have to ask them!  A big 'thank you' to Sally and Pauline for the opportunities that we have been given.

Tag Rugby Festival - 2016

Tag that…

September saw the whole of Year 5 get kitted up for ‘Tag Rugby’, organised by Dougie Hall and his band of helpers, at Berwick Middle School.  Year 5 had a fun morning out, meeting new friends and enjoying many mini games of rugby! A big thanks to Mr Middlemist, Dougie and the Y8 Sports Leaders for organising and running the event.

Year 5 welcomed the Newcastle Eagles Community Coach who was here as part of the Hoops 4 Health programme, delivering basketball coaching to all year 5 pupils.  Each class participated in one hour of fun and games and then the whole year group competed in a mini tournament all afternoon.  Still to come is a visit from some of the 1st team players for a half day of workshops (based around keeping fit and healthy) and the Northumberland Schools Hoops 4 Health semi-finals which will be played later in the year at Sport Central, Newcastle - home to the Newcastle Eagles, prior to one of their home games.

If you're interested in taking in a home game then visit the Eagles site for further information at:
